We helped Virgin Trains blaze a red-hot trail through the mediocre world of UK rail travel by marrying new technical and data capabilities with strong creativity. Our challenge was to create communications that were impactful, memorable and effective, while also adding a truly personal dimension that lived up to the promise of the Virgin brand.
Driven by data
With better trains, nicer food and eager staff, we wanted to let people know how great train travel can be. And data showed us where to focus our efforts to drive customer satisfaction and incremental value - helping us devise a segmented customer lifecycle for our base comms.
It's nothing everything personal
Using the data team’s findings, we created a range of highly-personalised triggered comms across web, email and SMS. From welcome and pre-departure to responding to behavioural changes, each one works hard to drive higher levels of customer engagement as well as sales.
